Fayette County Public Health Now Vaccinating Priority Groups

Fayette County Public Health is now vaccinating the priority groups of Ohio's vaccine distribution plan.

The phase 1-A criteria includes home healthcare workers; hospice workers; EMS & EMT responders; primary care practitioners; urgent care, pharmacy and dialysis center staff; dental providers; public health employees who are at risk of exposure; and high-risk ancillary staff members.

If you belong to one of these groups, or if you are an agency director and believe that your staff meets these eligibility requirements, a survey can be found online at surveymonkey.com/r/Fayettecovidvaccine.

There were 239 currently active cases of COVID-19 reported by Fayette Public Health Wednesday, along with a pandemic total of 29 COVID-related deaths.

The COVID vaccine began being administered to healthcare workers in highland county earlier this week. Highland public health on Wednesday reported 207 currently active cases, along with a pandemic total of 21 COVID-related deaths.

Highland public health too, is now closed until Monday for the new year holiday.
