UMPIRES MISSED OVER 34,000 BALL-STRIKE CALLS IN 2018

According to a new study from Boston University, Major League Baseball umpires missed over 34,000 ball and strike calls during the 2018 season.

That’s an average of 14 bad calls per game – or 1.6 bad calls per inning. Even worse, 55 bad called strikes were third strikes in the ninth inning that ended the game. (BU Today)
